People who are arrested with in FAIRFIELD county and do not make bond are housed at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. If you are planning to visit a loved one housed at this facility and have never done so before, it is a good idea to call ahead to find out what days and hours the inmate has for visits. From Hartford:
Take I-91 south to I-95 south at New Haven. Follow I-95 south, taking exit 27A (route 8/25 north - Trumbull-Waterbury exit). Go north approximately 1.7 miles to exit 4, Lindley Street. At bottom of ramp turn right. Go o next traffic light and turn right onto North Avenue (U.S. Route 1). Proceed west for 0.5 miles. Bridgeport Correctional Center is on the right hand side, at the corner of North Avenue and Madison Avenue.

From Merritt Parkway - Park Avenue:
Exit off parkway at Park Avenue (exit 47). Proceed south for 3.7 miles, take a left onto North Avenue proceeding east approximately 0.6 miles. Bridgeport Correctional Center is on the left hand side, at the corner of North Avenue and Madison.

From Merritt Parkway - Route 8:
Exit the parkway at Route 8. Travel south for 1.1 miles to new route 8/25. Travel 2 miles to exit 5 (Boston Avenue and North Avenue). Turn right at the second light and travel south on North Avenue for 1.1 miles. Bridgeport Correctional Center is on the right hand side, at the corner of North Avenue and Madison Avenue.

DIRECTIONS:

I-95 Southbound:
I-95 South to Exit 8. At the end of ramp take a right onto Elm Street. Follow Elm, which will become Grove Street. At the traffic light at the top of the hill, turn left onto Hoyt Street. There is a Dunkin Donuts at this intersection on the left. Courthouse is the first brick building on the left.

I-95 North from Greenwich:
I-95 North to Exit 8. Take left off ramp onto Atlantic Street. Follow Atlantic Street North to Bedford Street approximately one mile. Turn right at light onto Hoyt Street at the Stamford Police Station. Courthouse is 123 Hoyt.

Merritt Parkway - South from New Canaan, Norwalk, Wilton, Weston:
Merritt Parkway South to Exit 35, at end of ramp turn right onto High Ridge Road. Follow High Ridge Road, which will become Summer Street approximately three miles. Follow Summer Street South; turn left on Hoyt Street. Go through two lights. Courthouse is 123 Hoyt.

Merritt Parkway - North from Greenwich:
Take Exit 34. Turn right off ramp onto Long Ridge Road. Proceed South approximately three miles until you reach Summer Street. Follow Summer Street South; turn left onto Hoyt Street. Go through two lights. Courthouse is 123 Hoyt.
Parking: Parking is available on site.

DIRECTIONS:

FROM THE NORTH: (Merritt Parkway):
Take the Merritt Parkway southbound to Exit 52. On the exit, bear toward your left (Route 8 South). Keep to your left and follow the signs to Route 8 South, toward Bridgeport. Follow directions listed below for Route 8.

FROM THE NORTH (Route 8):
Take Route 8 southbound to Exit 3 (Main Street). On the exit, keep toward your left (Main Street South). At the end of the exit, proceed straight onto Main Street. At the third traffic light, turn right onto Golden Hill Street. The courthouse will be on your right—the large, brick building.

FROM THE NORTH (I-95):
Take I-95 southbound to Exit 27A. You will now be on the Route 25/8 Connector. Bear toward your right and take Exit 2. At the end of the exit, proceed straight at the traffic light onto Golden Hill Street. Go through one stop sign. The courthouse will be on your left—the large, brick building.

FROM THE SOUTH (Merritt Parkway):
Take the Merritt Parkway northbound to Exit 49S (Route 25 South, Bridgeport). Follow directions listed above for Route 8.

FROM THE SOUTH (I-95):
Take I-95 northbound to Exit 27A. You will now be on the Route 25/8 Connector. Bear toward your right and take Exit 2. At the end of the exit, proceed straight at the traffic light onto Golden Hill Street. Go through one stop sign. The courthouse will be on your left—the large, brick building.

PARKING:
Public parking is not available at the courthouse. There is very limited metered parking on Golden Hill Street across from the courthouse. There are also several private parking lots and garages in the area.

DIRECTIONS:

From I-84 traveling West:
Take Exit 5 to end of exit and turn right at light on to Main Street. Proceed down Main Street to the fifth* light, which is the intersection of White and Main Street. Go left on to White Street. (You will see a sign on your right at that intersection noting the turn for the Court). Proceed down White Street through two lights. The Courthouse is on the right, past the railroad tracks and Leahy's Fuel. The driveway access to the public lot is on the right, just past the Courthouse.

From I-84 traveling East:
Take Exit 5. Go through a stop sign to the bottom of hill and a traffic light. Go right at this light on to Main Street. Proceed to intersection of White and Main Streets, which is at the fourth* light and turn left on to White Street. (You will see a sign on your right at that intersection noting the turn for the Court). Proceed down White through two lights. The Courthouse is on the right, past the railroad tracks and Leahy's Fuel. The driveway access to the public lot is on the right, just past the Courthouse.

*The number of working traffic lights may vary from time to time. Use the stated number as a guide only and watch for the street names.

Parking: Note:
Limited free parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis at the White Street lot on the same side of the street as the Courthouse. The lot across the street from the Courthouse is restricted to Jurors Only and is monitored. If the public lot is full, please seek valid on-street parking or use the public garage on Patriots Drive near the railroad station. ($4.00 all day, $0.50 first hour, .35 each additional hour).

Go straight onto Golden Hill Street and follow to the end. Turn left onto Water Street (which immediately becomes Housatonic Avenue). The courthouse is one block north on the right..

From Stamford:

Each inmate is allowed two (2) visitors per visit and one (1) per day for 30 minutes in duration. Regular visiting period are held on a schedule determined by the inmate's housing location.

Professional Visits: May visit when appropriate identification is presented and at the convenience of this facility. These visits will not interfere with the normal operation (I.e. meals, lockups, counts, etc) of the facility. All professional visitors must sign in at the New Center Lobby then proceed to the appropriate building where the inmate is assigned.

There are no visits on State Holidays (New Year's day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Money (cash) will not be accepted for an inmate. Money orders or bank check must be sent by a person on the inmate's visiting list via US Mail to the following address:
